how long does it take for the game to load? 10 minutes? why is it so slow? i haven't got it to load yet someone said 12 minutes. is this true?

Does anyone know if the onealex discord is still up and running? It seems to have disappeared from my discord list and I'm unable to find it now.

In the past that has been the best resource for troubleshooting issues with the mod.

Currently trying to get Onealex running on my laptop and when I get to the initial run to create the sh3 my documents folder, I get a ctd " Cannot initialize 3d engine".

I know that error goes back a long time, usually fixed by changing dpi setting, compatibility settings, etc...
In my case all of those tees have been crossed but still getting the ctd.
Anyone else ran into this issue?

Yes. The mod has 300 ships....It is slow to load.

thanks for the reply. i got the attack disc to pop up but i don't know how i did it. can you enlighten me? how does one get the attack disc to pop up?

Leave the thermal layers out. The AI in SH3 is too weak already.

No asdics in gwxonealex are very effective and it is almost impossible to escape from them. in calm water = impossible :-)

Thermo layers is a good balance

Many said/say the same thing about <insert mod here> SH3 and they're all a cakewalk.

But it probably wouldn't matter anyway; I've just sunk two ships from a 6/1944 stock NYGM convoy and I recently removed the thermal layers from SH3 Commander hoping it would help.
The escorts aren't even looking for me (submerged)

They do normally look for me but they're not difficult to evade by any means. Got 30k the last patrol (4/1944).

Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find the button to zoom out on the Nav Map. TAB zooms in but then there's no way to zoom out? I'm playing on a laptop with a trackpad, no mouse wheel. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, is there an easy way to restore the "U" key to bring up the Uzo?

Just starting out with it but this seems like a fantastic mod.
