Thank you for tutorial videos. Now I know much more than before!
There are some interesting points in videos. I didn't know some of the mechanics you mentioned. Thank you again. |

I've just started a new career. I was trying enter to Mediterranean to reach La Spezia port. It was incredibly difficult to pass through Strait of Gibraltar. A destroyer's spotted me. I've sent 4 torpedo with 2 hits. 2 corvettes came to check but I changed my spot about 10 km away first. I was laying on the seabed at 155 meters deep. They couldn't find me maybe because of I wasn't try to go away. I have spent a few hours and finally they've gone away. However, it was my 3rd try at strait of Gibraltar.
Is there any way to reduce electric engine noise? It's always about 90 db unless we close it. |

Yes.
Set steering to manual. Turn off the gyrocompass. Set speed low, try to hang 10m or so off the bottom to allow the seabed to interfere with their hearing. |

I enjoyed SH3 and SH5, and now UBoat, have contributed financially to the forum and have greatly benefited from those of you who are experts and kind enough to share your wisdom with those of us who aren't. I thank you all. I wish I could contribute expert advice of my own, but I'm just not at that level. Perhaps someday. . .

Salted, these are great! Would it be possible to do one on damage management and/or how to stay submerged longer? Thanks.

Quote:
As far as staying under longer: Kill the gyrocompass (-2/min) Go to blue lighting (15% oxygen conservation) If you HAVE to run the vents, put some potassium absorbers in it (vents without absorbers cycle air for hours at say +50ish/min, but with filters it's about +100ish/min). Happy hunting |
