This is a really good idea and we really do need a second liberty model in the game, I hope you do finish this as the model looks great. As for textures, your best bet would be to ask Alex B and/or Von Dos, they both do great texture work and are very active in the community.

It is a controller that you add to a mesh (3D part of a model). So, this mesh won't be rendered if your camera is beyond the specified distance.
