I happened to come upon a few trailers for Greyhound. I thought the scenes were intense and I was looking forward to seeing the movie before Covid ended that. I will still look for the movie the first chance I get.
Being the people here like Das boot, The enemy below and other movies of the same genre, I think Subsim in general will like the movie. At the risk of spoiling it for those who planned on seeing the movie, I found a scene. You can decide if the movie merits viewing after this scene. |

Well, this scene .. pretty dumb not to lower the 'scope for minutes? The sonar man would have not be able to hear the sub, or find it via sonar - not at PD, not at that distance. But the periscope.. m'..ok.
CGI does not look bad though, seems pretty well done. Not shown here, but: A boat fighting it out at the surface, or taunting allied ships via radio comm, unlikely, and not only because of cross bearings. The taunting is in Forrester's book, though it is only mentioned that german radio operators would interfere in allied communications with english swear words. I guess the propganda was still showing.. Damn those contact triggers ![]() Oh yes i will watch it ![]()

Today being a special day in my life means I will note the action taken by the forum owner but in all honesty had I been around these parts earlier I would have been less lenient so simply locking this thread will have to suffice.
