Those are rather dramatic numbers. How important was the factor of duds, and how much can then be contributed to the sheer experience?

The reviewer says the book only has brief statements about the above numbers. The review mentioned US subs fired over 14,000 torpedoes. Also, the number of sinkings by other navies is apparently hard to come by.

The book focuses on the weapons' capabilities and operational use.
