This happened to me a lot. When I first played SH3 with LSH3 2015, I didn't know you couldn't sink neturals and whenever I left Lorient, I always had to leave by periscope depth because the Spanish and other neutrals would fire at me.
If you sink too many Spanish neutrals, they will recognize you as the enemy and fire at you. So, have you sunk any neutrals? By the way, welcome aboard!
