Default The US-China dispute

(To the moderators-I fear that this dispute between these two countries will escalate and go from this dispute to crisis. If so then please replace the word dispute with the word crisis-only if it does)

I think this dispute between USA and China should have its own discussion.

Yes we will without doubt mix Wuhan-virus and American politics into this thread.

If all what I have heard and seen in the news and here on our forums-China have a lot to answer for.

Whether it came from a bat or was released by mistake.
The Chinese government held back important information and have/are refusing WHO and other virologist to enter China.

I understand why USA/Trump is angry on China.

Wish our government in Denmark and Sweden would take same standpoint.

Edit
Maybe our moderators think there's no need for this thread-please erase it, if this should be the case
End edit

This pandemic goes much further than just a dispute between China and the U.S. But I'm sure European leaders are grateful for that distraction. Personally I would really love to hear SOMETHING, ANYTHING from the E.U. leaders where they stand, what their thoughts are. So far I'll I've heard is just crickets.

Here's China's take on it. Keep in mind this accusation is directed at more than just 'Lady Liberty" I couldnt help but laugh from it, does that make a bad person?

Maybe the Eu is holding back, before there is any evidence for anything.
But as usual it is all the EU's fault.

Maybe the EU is trying to bring those numbers down, while the US are playing the blame game.

As mentioned in my first post.

Whether it came from a bat or was released by mistake

The Chinese government held back important information and have/are refusing WHO and other virologist to enter China

And it's here EU should be more critical towards the Chinese government.

This is something I have heard on Danish, Swedish and in German news program.

Where they have mentioned Chinese unwillingness to share important information.

The Chinese government is doing everything to prevent these information getting out of the country

Quote:
Under the new policy, all academic papers on Covid-19 will be subject to extra vetting before being submitted for publication. Studies on the origin of the virus will receive extra scrutiny and must be approved by central government officials, according to the now-deleted posts.
https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/12/a...hnk/index.html

Therefore should EU take a more critical standpoint.

Which USA have.

Forgot something. It was not my intention to derail this thread into a EU-China discussion.
I only mentioned Denmark and Sweden(EU-members) as they are taking a defensive position.

In March 2019 (!) Yi Fan et al. published detailed information on the potentially danger of bat coronaviruses in China
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6466186/

On the 31st of December 2019, the Chinese Office of the WHO was informed of cases of pneumonia of unknown aetiology (unknown cause) detected in Wuhan, Hubei Province in China.

On the 7th of January, the Chinese authorities identified a new coronavirus (nCoV) as the causative agent.

On the 7th of January the complete sequence of the virus was published by Peng Zhou et al in Nature:
https://www.nature.com/articles/s415...7?rel=outbound

On the 9th of January the Chinese authorities reported in the media that the cause of this viral pneumonia was initially identified as a new type of coronavirus, unlike any other human coronavirus discovered so far.

On the 10th of January, the WHO published a set of temporary guidelines for all countries on how to deal with this virus, including monitoring of affected persons, sample analysis, patient care, infection control in health centres, maintenance of the right supplies and communication about the virus to the public.

On the 31th of March Hualyu Tian published detailed information about the containment strategy in Wuhan in "Science"
https://science.sciencemag.org/conte...mp=trendmd-sci

The PR of China is a autocratic dictatorship, don't get me wrong. But there is no need to further spread the BS the West uses in order to distract from our own failure.

^I'm not a person who make up stories

I try to remember what I hear in our news program and I try to find an English version of a written article and post in one of our thread where it belongs.

It's from there I have heard and read how China is trying to hold back information.

But you are correct-Some Chinese scientist have released article on this Corona virus.
This have been done before the Chinese government decided to impose some kind of censur

From the article i have posted in my last comment

Quote:
Since late January, Chinese researchers have published a series of Covid-19 studies in influential international medical journals. Some findings about early coronavirus cases -- such as when human-to-human transition first appeared -- have raised questions over the official government account of the outbreak and sparked controversy on Chinese social media.

And now, Chinese authorities appear to be tightening their grip on the publication of Covid-19 research.
Due to some reason Chinese scientist can not openly post an article related to this Corona, without any approval from the government.

Back to main discussion

It was an article in a Danish newspaper, which gave me the feeling-This will not end well.
It's a discussion of its own.

China should do damage control and head off any confrontation by blaming the democrats for bribing a lowly lab tech who has since expired(one way or the other). It would not take much for people to believe that.

...or maybe throw the FBI under the bus, they're beyond corrupt. Wouldn't take much to believe James Comey did this either.

I've never written you made anything up. Let's stick to the truth here.

From your article:

Quote:
I think it is a coordinated effort from (the) Chinese government to control (the) narrative, and paint it as if the outbreak did not originate in China," the researcher told CNN. "And I don't think they will really tolerate any objective study to investigate the origination of this disease.
But these studies have already been published. And publishing started not late this January as stated by CNN, but in late December/early January. Again, let's stick to the truth. Nobody in China claims the outbreak did not start in Wuhan. Nobody.

The accusation from Mr. Trump/White house is this Corona virus does not have it's origin from a wild marked (from a bat) but from lab in Wuhan district.

It's an accusation I hope he(Mr. Trump) have something to have it in

I'm looking forward to see those prof he claim showing that this Corona has its origin from a Wuhan based lab.

The bombshell 15-page research document also indicated that some of the five intelligence agencies believe that the virus may have been leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a claim initially dismissed as a conspiracy theory because Chinese officials insisted the virus came from the local wet markets, according to the Australian Daily Telegraph.
At the same time, a senior intelligence source told Fox News that while most intelligence agencies believe COVID-19 originated in the Wuhan lab, “it was thought to have been released accidentally.”
The report from the intelligence-sharing alliance of the five leading English-speaking countries, the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada called China’s shady handling of the virus “an assault on international transparency.”
