I'm sure the installation has worked (using JSGME) because it notified me that it would overwrite some files, but in the SH3 menu it doesnt say 2.01... In fact it doesn't say anything to mention NYGM (it didn't before the update anyway)...

Do you see the NYGM startup screen?

At the Main Menu screen along the bottom left hand side will be some text that should say NYGM Tonnage War v2.01 after the NYGM Tonnage War v2.0 - U-boat Visual Update has been installed correctly.

You talking about the text that scrolls along at the bottom? When I use SH3Cmdr, all it says is "Loaded using SH3 Commander -- Good hunting." But no NYGM 2.01.
