Where to buy Silent Hunter 5?

Hey Guys,
I want to buy Silent Hunter 5 but i heard different opinions on whether to buy it on steam or not. I want to use mods like Wolves of steel, also if not through steam just through uplay right?

buy it on steam; I have the disk but w/o uplay support it's a pain.
