LOD & LMS Files ?

I have an accumulation of .LOD and .LMS files in my main Dangerous Waters folder. What are these files used for and can I delete them?

The LOD files keep the information about loadout you set for each platform you drive

Thanks for your response. I am guessing the LMS would then be the saved multi player settins. I guess I can delete the old ones.
