Silent Hunter III 1.4b patch help

I've been trying to patch Silent Hunter III however I keep getting this message whenever I try to:

Check the details tab on the properties windows of the SH3.exe executable file. Maybe it is already up to the latest version.

And yeah, if you must update, make sure you download and apply the patch for the right geographical region.

Yeah you were right, turns out it was already at the latest version, tho now I'm having trouble with the 4gb patch, it says "sh3: unknown version as well" :/

Go back to that Properties window, and on the General tab, clear the box for "Read-only" so that the 4 gig patch can write to the exe file.
