Works ok and no visible slowdown in frame rate and that was in Scapa so there were other warships too

Thanx for this - looks and feels great

I was too busy to take screenshots in a convoy, but the fps hit was not a hindrance.

Funny you should use Oblivion as a source, I also have taken many textures and sound effects to make SH3 more convincing. I didn't think about the particle texturing, great work!

Hehe, I was roaming the city on the main quest which is destroyed and saw the smoke. Looked so nice, that I just had to take it.

Here is something I did with terrain, give it a try

http://rapidshare.de/files/22235950/...n_512.zip.html

This is my 512 pix version I am trying to find a better provider to put up my massive 4096 bundle

I am having trouble grabbing yours. Is there a secret handshake or something?

Hey Dowly - great idea with this smoke - tried it out last night. Kept waiting to spot a merchant off the Florida coast on my Drumbeat patrol, but kept getting dogged by warship sound contacts. Finally got tired of this one Elco captain that was sticking to me like glue despite hours of speed and course changes (what's with that, BTW?), so I finally decided to surface and duke it out with him.

Actually, I thought I was going to be able to sneak away from him on the surface in the middle of the night, but I saw him closing in from way far away and decided to see if I could hit him with my deck gun before he got too close. I actually hit him with my second shot, setting him on fire and causing him to turn and limp away. I sat back to enjoy your new smoke (looked great - sorry I forgot to take a screen shot), only to realize that he was getting away and wasn't sinking. I went to ahead flank, caught up with him and started shelling him again. About 40 shots later (10-12 hits - he's a small target), he FINALLY went under. (What's up with that, BTW - 10 hits with a 105mm deck gun to sink a PT boat?)

This is the first Elco I've encountered (as far as I know) since I started using GW 1.0 - I'm thinking something is weird with the Elco's sensors ability and damage model in this version, though obviously it's not safe to generalize from one encounter. I see that NYGM TW 2.0 is out now - may have to go try that one for a while. I hope I find some more substantial targets to try out your smoke on before I get back to port, but I'm really liking what I've seen so far.

So - does Oblivion have any clouds you could borrow to make more of the variable cloud files we've been talking about in another thread here?
