Don't get me wrong, I am having a blast. I just spent 3 hours in tutorial mode on a training cruise.

The controls are not as fiddly as you may perhaps think. It's entirely possible to (unrealistically) achieve almost completely stable trim, and indeed with some practice the game is playable solo. That being said, the social aspect of roleplay is more than half of the fun in Wolfpack.

I'm really happy with the hands-on approach. It's different (for the better, IMHO) than most of the sims I've played and loved.

That being said - I know that things "get old", so a layer of old-school management, as gumbeauregard explained, would be a beneficial addition to what we have now.

Sometimes it's interesting to take the role of a captain and strategize and issue orders, and sometimes it's fun to run around and spin stuff (valves, hydro, radio, scope even ....). That's why multiplayer is cool, 'cause we can all do what we enjoy in the moment, switch around for the next run etc.

As for AI/bots, and enjoying all of that solo... It'd be cool, yeah, but I'd rather see some other work done sooner than that (radio, terrains, more variety in tasks, ship damage model...). Solo, as it is now, is quite alright for me. Not perfect, but hey...

My intention is not to push for a solo game.

I just think that if the enemy ever gets to a realistic level manning multiple stations will become impossible.

I think it will be hard to find players who will man the dive planes or helm for hours.

And a truly realistic, no GPS, no map for anyone outside the control room version would make this even more obvious.
