One of the best image manipulation programs I've used is DXTBmp from here;
http://www.mwgfx.co.uk/ Open the DDS file, click Alpha, send alpha to editor. Works with any image editor including plain vanilla Windows Paint. After changing the white to a medium gray, save then go back to DXTBmp to click refresh alpha, then save the DDS file. |
