According to Wikipedia, MF radio stations (this was the most popular type in 40s) can be heard even hundreds of miles from transmitter, although this is highly dependant on time of day, terrain type, solar activity etc.
So it seems you might be able to, for example, listen to BBC while patrolling Denmark Strait, but it is certainly not guaranteed. |
