"Jitter" can sometimes be from the card being unable to keep up. Trying dialing back some of the settings in the game and testing. The sad thing about making graphics changes in the game is that you have to exit the game, and then re-start if for the changes to take effect, which can make for a long day of testing... Just try to have the display monitor's "Native" resolution match Windows, which will list it as the "Recommended resolution", which should match the game's resolution in the Game Settings. That eliminates any conversions between settings.

Hi propbeanie,
when I change graphic settings it does not let me out of the game and it sets them directly. The resolution is the same 1920x1080 @ 60 ... same as the game. And it is among those suggested. I did not try to change the resolution, but for now, all the changes in the graphics settings did not produce any results. The card is a Radeon RX460 4Gb ... and knowing that the graphics engine is not without flaws ... it seems to me absurd to require a more performing card. The system a Win7 i3-4360 @ 3.70 ghz, 8 GB ram. These "jitters" obviously appear in port ... but they are a constant within the sub. From the view of the turret I rarely find the problem ... and in any case much more bland, almost imperceptible. Thank you! |

I know many of these threads are old, but I just wanted to comment. Nhancer doesn't work for any nVidia driver newer than 257.xxx. I found a program that does the same thing called nVidia Profiler. It made a world of difference with my old Geforce 710.
Just thought I would add my 2 cents worth. |

I have installed today SH4 and The fall of the Rising Sun and I am planning to start a new campaing.
It has been ages I have not played with SH4 and since the last time the hardware and software has changed a lot. While I undertand that the game graphics cannot be expected to be at the level of a 2020 new sim I would like to ask our fellow Captains that are actively playing SH4 to share their Nvidia or other graphic adjustment to get the best experience with Silent Hunter 4. In my case I have managed to get more or less nice graphics but vertical sycronization is not working properly and in external view I get a nasty view of the wires and some other lines. If you have a nice graphics setting please share it here ![]()

This is what I am experiencing
I do not expect to have a 202 graphics but I have seen a lot of images and videos with better quality than the one in the pic. Any suggestion would be most appreciated

Same problem I am having. Also, the model of the Shinano looks terrible in the game. The first half of the hull is light grey and second half is dark blue.

^The latest version of the FOTRS mod fixes the Shinano, as for that Graphics problem I get that as well no matter what settings I change. I have a 4079k cpu and a Nvidia 970 graphics card, there isn't any need to upgrade the card as everything else displays perfectly.
