I haven't myself, but my Son sailed with the merchant marine for a while. He really liked it, and made excellent money. The stories of his umm... adventures were quite entertaining too. Then he came home to visit and an old girlfirend called him up. All of a sudden, he hated the merchant marine for some reason and stayed here.
