That's funny! Reminds me of when I was stationed in Naples, Italy for several years when I was in the Navy and I ordered a coffee and it was just at tiny little thing but it was the strongest cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. It was so deceptive! Sort of like the movie Men in Black where the one guy had the big pulse rifle and the other got that puny little peashooter but the puny gun was way more powerful.

I reckon you were given real 'espresso'... I once had some made for me by an Italian guy at the digs where I was staying: it was in a tiny white cup and you could almost stand your spoon up in it, it was so strong
