![]() ![]() My son found this lovely moth with burnished copper markings, feasting on an old apple core yesterday. I wasn't aquainted with it (I don't have one in my collection) but guessed it was probably not rare. It turns out to be a Herald Moth... widely found in countryside and gardens... although he's not supposed to be around until the Spring But we've had some exceptionally warm weather in the UK these past few days, so who knows what's going to turn up next... perhaps the Brimstone butterflies will come out of hibernation early
