I have a question I keep on forgetting.
NFL or American Football is the most popular sport in USA overall. No question there. The question is: Why is the season so short ? From Oct-Jan. Only four month. Markus |

An argument can and has been made that hockey is almost as punishing as football. Especially when they have 84 games, plus a zillion playoffs, and football has at worst 20. But it also comes down to marketing. High school football is mostly firday nights, college is Saturday, and pro is Sunday. They added Monday and Thursday nights as time went on, but having all your football on one day makes it an event every week. This just drives up the mania surrounding each game, and gives the pundits time to discuss the inane aspects of the game over the week. |
