One of the best ways to understand the design of a Nuclear Sub (IMO) is a model of the Geo Washington Polaris boat sold in the 60s. As far as blueprints, I worked on a number of nuclear powered ships and subs and they kept a pretty tight grip on the designs and drawings. I had a Top Secret clearance (which would get a cup of coffee with $50) and was still limited to only the drawings of systems I was working on.
I saw some of the links offered here in response to your question and I am sure they are all perfectly legal, but depending on where you find the designs make sure you know they have been declassified. Certain politicians may get away with broadcasting our secrets, but normal people like us would likely go to Leavenworth. Good luck, LarryT |
