MacCabe getting fired had nothing to do with his wife. A year long investigation by the DOJ's Inspector General Micheal Horowitz is the reason.

"Pursuant to Department Order 1202, and based on the report of the Inspector General, the findings of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility, and the recommendation of the Department’s senior career official, I have terminated the employment of Andrew McCabe effective immediately," Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement.

"After an extensive and fair investigation and according to Department of Justice procedure, the Department’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) provided its report on allegations of misconduct by Andrew McCabe to the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR)," Sessions said.

"The FBI’s OPR then reviewed the report and underlying documents and issued a disciplinary proposal recommending the dismissal of Mr. McCabe. Both the OIG and FBI OPR reports concluded that Mr. McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the news media and lacked candor − including under oath − on multiple occasions.

Sessions btw in my book is a strong pro-Trump man. I do not suspect him of being neutral on the POTUS.

Dems and reps have acheived one thing for sure. The American polticla landscape is a hells ktichen and the poisons and explosives are being brewed everywhere. Even honest men will get pulled down into the dirt until they appear to be not different to any of the muggers surrounding them anymore.

You guys all know damn well that this man was on Trump's blakc list since long time and repeatedly and so often has taken the opposite side to Trump's camp as if you seriously assume that his wife being a Democrat candidate and her campaign assisted/paid for by Clinton-friendly people or his hostility to Trump does not play any role here. The Donald took revenge, that simple it is, and he drsses it into formal correctness, btu the problem is that in the depratment of justice as well as the adminstraiton of intel services and especially the FBI the Dinals in all his Putinesque wisdom has seriously interferred with the eutrality these institutions demand and has tried and often successfully tries to install is loyal servants in key posts. That one of his most servile loyalists now delivers the "execution order" for a man who is a known anti-Trump guy, in a bid to give it the appearance of formal correctness and justice, is no real surprise, and also is not trustworthy. The neutrality of institutions from the predident can no logne rbe taken for granted. This is the Trump legacy, already now.

Call it the Putinization of American politics.
