My 2001 Ford Mustang needs a new clutch. The driver's side window doesn't roll up or down without help. The left rear wheel is out of alignment and it wobbles and squeaks while I drive. The odometer blinks in and out if I hit a bump in the road. Only one windshield washer nozzle works. Various parts of the dash are loose. The 12V outlet only works when it wants to. The driver's side door makes a loud "thunk" when it's opened. Sometimes the headlights dim slightly for no apparent reason. If there's any snow at all on the ground it just spins its tires. I'd get where I was going faster if I walked. The check engine light stays on, even though I've taken it in for maintenance. They told me there must be something wrong with the computer. If I crank the wheel all the way to the stop when I'm reversing, a horrible, clunky grinding noise can be heard coming from somewhere in the drive-train. The horn is okay.

What's the one thing I really hate about my car?

...That it's mine. :/

What i hate about my car? Almost everything
I don't get spare parts easily anymore, and i need a new rear right door. The engine has run about 450000 miles, and directly after starting the Turbo is blowing out black smoke until it gets its revs.
Fuel consumption is outstanding though: more than 67 miles per gallon for a car from 1983, and the two horns work and are loud enough. What's more they are located directly in the middle of the wheel

I just hesitate to buy one of those newish electronic monsters. I do not want a car to lock the doors automatically (i always lose my keys in the car), i do not want Xenon or LED or what's it called control electronics that go haywire every 3 years, i do not even want ABS or ESP. Airbags are a useful invention, but ... electronic fail everywhere.
And this new "design" makes me puke. Those Audis or BMWs or the new Range Rover, like Arnold Schwarzenegger on steroids, with a "face" design and "eyebrows" like done by a Mickey Mouse comic illustrator.
Or those SUVs like the Cayenne or BMW X6, like moving cancerous ulcers.
Ridiculous. I am sure i would hate a new car even more.

For daily driving I am currently looking for a used
a) Citroen Xantia Estate/station/touring(?) 2.0 TCT or the 3l version
or
b) MG ZT 190 T touring (nice engine but skew-whiffed ugly front)
or
c) an old Volvo without rust (reasonable, but ugly)
or
d) an affordable and rust-free Citroen CX Break (impossible )

For having fun, this is a completely different, but i would look for a Triumph Spitfire Mk III, or a TR4. The new Renault Alpine also has something, but .. ugly instruments, electronics, and.. 50,000 Euros

Automatic door locking after one minute means I always carry a spare key.

An old mate had a Ford Prefect with a tinny sounding horn. He bolted on 3 more horns so he had 4!!!. When he went BEEP people on the footpath jumped a foot in the air and even trucks gave him right of way.

At night the headlights almost faded to nothing when he sounded it.

My '04 c60 2.5T AWD Volvo is near perfect aside from two issues.

1) There's only 2 cup holders, in a four door car. Yeah I know it's a direct competitor to the BMW 3 series business car, but dammit, some people car pool to the stock traders office.

2) Turn radius. I have driven heavy rescue equipment that have better turn radii. Parking and three point turns are a joke in this thing. With all the amazing handling it has (and it does drive like a dream, and fast if I ask it, in any weather, I don't need to shovel my driveway), you go to park and over shoot by half a space as you can't turn that tight.

I just had to play this through twice at my son's insistence; it's probably going to become an earworm over the next few days
