乾杯! ウェブサイトへようこそTian Tian-san!
I'm plotting a trip to Japan, I really want to see the Kure Naval museum and the Mikasa. I work for a Japanese company and I love to ask my Japanese co-workers to translate naval material for me. Apparently, naval kanji is hard.

It would definatively be interesting read but I would recommend not translating and posting whole book for copyright reasons. Instead pick what you think is interesting for us and post that with your own words rather than copying directly.

From my little trip to Japan and Yokasuka

Mikasa worth a visit however you can be done and dusted here in about an hour and a half, they also dont let you go down below decks and she is encased in concrete.

The Naval base at Yokasuka some very nice stuff inside.

Sorry for the late reply, but I just remembered some scuttlebut from back when we were homeported in Sasebo.

First, its a great town to visit and it was a great homeport for me back in the day (late 1980's).

Anyway, its not a museum as far as I know but there is a park near the entrance to the (US) base. In that park you'll find a small green cinder block building. The scuttlebut I heard more than once was that the raid on Pearl Harbor was planned inside that building.

At the time I was there, I was skeptical. Submariners are great at making anything sound plausible but I heard it from people I trusted.
