I usually play over the board chess person to person the old way because I have found that there are too many cheaters on the internet chess sites using chess engines.

I agree with your observations on modern day chess methodology and prefer calculating my own moves too.

There are a few of us who meet at my place once a week or so to play and it is fun... also keeps me out of trouble - ha!
