Ahnenerbe or ARB widescreen is the only way to go for this problem. They are both here in subsim

Perhaps I am doing something wrong here that I don't quite understand. I used the most popularly downloaded widescreen patch for SH3
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1092 dropped all of the files in the main SH3 folder in Steam, and edited the d3d9.cfg file to change the resolution. However, most of the UI seems streched out. As I am running the naval academy missions just to check the graphics, the dials on the TDC are definitely streched and the ship identification manual is also very stretched out. I also tired setting the resolution in that file to what I heard was the SH3 native resolution of 1280x1024 but the game still loaded in widescreen for reasons I can't seem to figure out. As I mentioned, I don't mind playing the game in a 4:3 aspect ratio if that will fix the stretching issue. Oddly, or maybe not for those who have played for some time, it seems that GWX 3.0 already allows for widescreen though the 2D models in the UI (TDC and such) are stretched to some degree. The GWX loading screen fits on my 1920x1080 screen and the game loads in what appears to be the same resolution. Last edited by Marek Shields; 09-21-17 at 08:44 PM. |

From a resolution standpoint, all is well now after I found and installed the Ahnenerbe WideGui 1920 x 1080 Final mod. Having some other issues now which I will make a separate post about. Thanks for the help!
