I was in ASW back in the 70s, so we had a long discussion on sub hunting techniques past and present, along with ways to evade it. I had about two hours to kill before my appointment, and the time just flew by talking to this guy.

That's awesome. I've always felt fortunate to have been alive when so many WW 2 vets are, to hear the stories etc and know people who were there. My Grandfather, well Great Grandfather and his friends all had great stories.Sadly, most of them are gone and he passed not long ago at 95.

I would like to add that on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) tonight they are having what I consider a "Golden Run" of WW2 Sub Movies.

I have just watched "Destination Tokyo" (1943) at 8 pm... "Operation Pacific" (1951) at 10:30 pm and what I consider to be a personal favorite, "The Enemy Below", (1957) which just got done...

But it's not over yet ! starting in 7 mins is "Up Periscope" (1959), and at 4:30 am starts "Torpedo Run" (1958)..

In all my years, and I just turned 59, this will be the 1st time I have I have seen all of these together... Salute !!!
