This link you posted is for the engines destroyed issue. This is a very recent problem, fixed by JScones.

The sonar destroyed dates back to 1.4b patch and probably before that. It is definitly a stock issue. I remember from many posts that this cannot be resolved. Also the sonar may look destroyed, but it actually pings ang provides output (distances).

In some rare cases it has been reported that the sonar is indeed destroyed, but I think this might have been due to modding.
