Destroyer Command no sound
Hi
I dont know which is the problem but the game had lost the sound. Intro is OK, but then with the options screen or the first screen with the AAA gun came no more sound is available. System is Windows 10 64 bit with a internal Intel HD Graphics 530. Silent Hunter II work perfect(OK, only the old problem with the medals)but work very well. Some idea? Thanks |

Hi,
I found this which may be of interest "HAVING AUDIO ISSUES WITH WINDOWS 10" http://www.digitaltrends.com/computi...heres-the-fix/ Fortunately I've never had any audio issues with Destroyer Command but I have had issues with different graphics cards not being compatible with the sim. I'm still using Windows 7 so I don't have any experience with Windows 10 and Destroyer Command. Have you tried changing the Compatibility Mode for Destroyer Command? -Tim

Thanks.
Yes, all drivers are updated to the last version. For the compatibiliy, yes I have tried differentes options, XP Service Pack 2, or 3, Windows 7, etc. But nothing to the moment. Also the game run as administrador or not. I suspect that is something to do with the 64 bits, but the funny thing is Silent Hunter II work without problems with the same version of Windows. |

That is very odd that SHII is working, since DC was made with the same game engine.
I just read a comment on a Good Old Games forum that SHII/DC seems to have more issues with Intel graphics. So it's a good start that you aren't having SHII/DC graphic issues. I hope the sound fix follows soon. You mentioned the 64bits, did you install DC straight to the hard drive... C:\Destroyer Command ? -Tim

No, the game is installed in a partition of the hard disk, disk J, together with Silent Hunter II, III and all the Ubisoft´s series IL-2.

Installing DC in it's own root folder on the same drive as Windows might be worth a try?
I've seen this recommended for other sims a few times in the past.

I have tried the game in C. No difference and not sound. The sound come only back with the recorded Switch Scenes, for example, from the Guadalcanal theater of operations, new assigned to the Aleutians.
The game is still playable, but the difficulty is by the antisubmarine tasks; no hydropones and no sonar ping to hear. That´s pity. |

Are the files present in DestComm\Sim\Sfx and do the .wav-files play if you click one?
Are you on version 1.1? Project Messer? I'm running it on Windows 10 64bit without any major problems. Compability mode for XP service pack 2. |

Yes, all waves are there and working if I click one.
Patch is the default 1.1. Installation is vanille. No proyect Messerwerk installed. Only changement, two sounds: general quarters, ended general quarters(first060 and first 064)from Subsim.com new sounds for DC. But, I have tried also this possibility, rolling back this two sound to the originals. And not changements. No sound with the originals or this two changed waves. |
