No, you have to return to base to pick them up. Also once embarked, they take up space in the torpedo room leaving you only the tubes to carry weapons in. So choose wisely.

It is indeed based on research I did.
And yes, your tasked mission always has priority, but you're free to engage targets of opportunity at your discretion. However failing your primary task carries consequences for the overall war, unlike in Silent Hunter. |
