The info I heard and saw on this program, was that the American military(NAVY, Air force and ground forces) have together build a complete railway tracks from east to west, from north to south with hundreds of connection-All this is placed several hundreds of meter below ground. And they are travelling at very high speed, using MagLev.

So as a big fan of conspiracy story this was new to me=I never knew that.

I bet you didn't know that:

"tja"
A German reaction to the apocalypse, dawn of the gods, nuclear war, an alien attack or no bread in the house.

The Danes use it too.

Here it is used when a person doesn't know the answer

Tja, det ved jeg ikke = I don't know

Only because you stole it from the Norwegians

Tja, slik kunne det vel ha skjedd.

Default Pentagon: The battle of the bathrooms

The Pentagon has twice the expected number of restrooms. The reason is that when it was built, Virginia still had segregation laws mandating separate restrooms for Whites and "Coloreds". The problem is that FDR signed EO 8802 in June 1941 eliminating discrimination in the Executive Branch.

What to do, what to do? The building, while under construction was governed under Virginia labour laws.

As the building was built in Virginia, the plans included separate (but equal?) restrooms. However, when the building opened and fell under the Federal control, the bathrooms were opened but never designated as restricted. For a short time, the Pentagon was the only government building in Virginia that had non segregated bathrooms.

I didn't know that ... this would make great cocktail talk, uh? They could use the extra restrooms for the transgenders now couldn't they?

Just kidding ...

Thanks for this unusual topic being shared ... but how did you come by this information Platapus?

Handshakes were originally meant to make sure that the person you were meeting wasn’t carrying a concealed weapon. The hand clasp proved that your hand was empty and shaking was meant to dislodge any weapons hiding up the sleeve.

If there is a piece of information of no value that can do me absolutely no good, I know it. I can't remember a trig function to save my life, but I remember that...

The Pentagon didn't have to be in the shape it is.

The original location for the Pentagon was along side Arlington Cemetery wedged in between two other streets. That is why the original design was a lopsided pentagon.

When it was decided to move the location of the Pentagon to its current location, it was decided that there was not enough time (nor any particular reason) to re-do the layout. So all they did was even out the sides to make it a neater Pentagon.

In the US, it is the Pentagon that does the screwing.
