Can I call friendly task forces to help me out?

Sometimes I find out a jap task force, obviously, it's impossible to destroy it by myself.
Is it possible to send a message reporting about the position and all that stuff of the task force so friendly task forces can help me?

You can send a position report on the surface with enemy ships in sight (a bit risky but can be done at night) and get some renown. However, with the tremendous distances in the Pacific and the scarcity of Allied resources, it would take too long for help to arrive for you to have any benefit from that.

Yes, it is possible with the special abilities crap to call air strikes. I've tossed every crewman who gets special abilities overboard, so I don't know how that works.

To send in a report on a task force,(or Convoy), you need to have a contact locked in on the scope, and at least near decks awash. (watch the tab that has the send message icon on it. There is also a send report icon on the right side.) When the send icons are not "broken" you can send the reports. I send report, followed by send message

Then duck!

you will get a message back in a minute or so. sometimes it says "engage Target" other times it will say "good find, other assets will advised" (or something like that)

Once ,at night, I had attacked a task force, sunk a Battleship, and while still close enough, and not in danger, I went to decks awash and sent in a report. Got back "engage task force and inflict damage" as a new objective. Task force was barely in sight and hot-footing it. I was never able to get near it again. Still had that objective up till the end of patrol.

I usually use the report option when I don't have enough torpedoes to go after a Target

I don't even bother sending a contact report. It's too risky.

As the officially unofficial, self appointed assigner of jobs at Subsim, I'm assigning you to the deck gun. You are to stay with it at all times. Figure out a way we can use it underwater.
