Hello everybody
![]() Now then, I have a question. Which files are necessary/used/affected in the campaign engine of SHIII. The reason that I ask is that I've downloaded the Schnellboot mod and all I need to make this masterpiece work is a working campaign, but every time I chose a career, my starting point is the Equator...which is quite unpractical for a boat of only 700 nm range hehe. It doesn't matter what flotilla I choose, I always spawn there ![]() |

mmh yes, this is the word ! ![]() My question : what schnellboot mod ? version 1 or 2 ? I have the second (which is much better). Well, to say the truth, I've never managed to play a career, the SCR campaign file making my game crash (I don't know why, maybe a problem of memory card). But I might help you. Go in data/Cfg and open the file Flotilla.cfg. It must start with : Code:
;Schnellboot 2.0 [Flotilla] NbFlotilla=4 NbStartingFlotilla=4 Last edited by Kendras; 01-09-17 at 06:16 PM. |

I managed to reproduce your problem ! It happens with a blanck LND campaign file (see in data/Campaigns/Campaign. You start at the Equator probably because the harbour where you are supposed to start the mission is missing ...
![]() In game, you have to see that on your navigation map : ![]() |

If you start your missions at the Equator there is a difference of longtitude and latitude information in the lnd campaign File and the flotilla cfg File. Both have to be the same for every harbour.
And btw. your question should be in the modding section! |

Thanks very much both of you for your replies and sorry for posting in the wrong forum, I've been away from this place for quite a long time.
I will definitely check to see if the harbour coordinates are correct....it seems to me that the campaign is put together of various other campaigns so this is certainly a possibility..... ![]() Kendras> I too run the V2 because it is made for the stock 1.4b version. I wasn't very keen about having to download GWX and all just to run a different mod all together, but you're right, the V2 does seem a lot more finished than the first one, it's even got the S700! Regarding the crash issue you mention, I get this problem when I install ALL of the files. I started out with installing the files relevant for the S-boot only and I could do single missions, and still can, without any crashes. Then I started to try to make the campaign work...it does in a way, it doesn't crash, but I spawn in the wrong place. Once I tried to install all the extras like small crafts, extra merchants and warships etc etc. THEN I got a crash too. I will try to have a look at the LND campaign file and the flotilla, thanks for the tip! I'll keep you posted if I have any progress ![]() |

Got it working! Kendras> I think the crash you suffered was not due to your graphics card, it was either the campaign scr or rnd. I took them out of the Campaign SB folder, leaving only the LND file there and now I start in the right position. Question is now, of course, if the traffic will correspond to the patrol area, I need to try first to see. But to get the campaign working> take the campaign SCR and RND out of the campaign folder and install only the LND file. |

If I install only the SCR campaign, it works.
If I install only the RND campaign, it works. If I install both SCR and RND campaigns, it crashes. So I think it's a hardware problem ... ![]() About you : how is it with the campaign ? Did you manage to attack some british coastal shipping ? Have you been attacked by coastal guards or air patrols ? |

well that's weird! completely opposite of me. One thing I've noticed 3d and graphics wise, is that, quite contrary to normal, if I export one of the 3d models and alter it in mm3d and then import it my game will crash.
Regarding the campaign, yeah the coastlines are quite busy and I've managed to sink a 2000 and a 6000 tonner. I got surprised at my own coastline by an elco, but it was just as few shots and boom it lid up like a torch, had it been a pack of them it may have turned out otherwise. I went head on with an armed trawler and sank it with a torpedo, but that was quite unrealistic, actually what annoys me is that the various escorts behave as if you're a submerged submarine even though you're on the surface....but I guess that's the game code. Oh and another thing, the schnellboote seem to be able to take quite a lot of cannon hits which I think is unrealistic too. But it's still a damn fine piece of work |

I'd really like to make a missile boat mod, maybe for SH 4 since it's got better radar simulation......I'm actually dabbling with it, but it's a huge undertaking. I like this small craft action
