Have to go with White Christmas, been a favorite for a long time. There was a funny version of I Wish You a Merry Christmas done by one of the guys from Monty Python, but not something we could put in here, lol

That was pretty good. I loved the role reversal and Lady Gaga made a great Louis Armstrong.

here is mine!

None of us in present company are strangers to what the world was going through in the Winter of 1944-45. Some of our nations had been at war for 6+ long and difficult years.

Though the Allies had made many advances in the Pacific and Europe, the cost, the toll of the war, was staggering for all sides. People were tired, disheartened, every facet of daily life revolved around the war effort.

A movie premiered in St. Louis, Missouri entitled "Meet Me in St. Louis" featuring the legendary Judy Garland, in one scene, comforting her character's younger sister before the upcoming Christmas holiday, Judy sang what would become an instant classic. it became such an enduring song in part, because it encouraged people to not worry, that someday everything would be better and all of the strife would be a distant memory and we would be reunited with our loved ones wherever they might be... her song was exactly what the people of the U.S. and probably the world over needed to hear. It is my favorite Christmas Song, and i hope in listening to it you could see how important the song would be for the morale of the viewers going to the theater to escape reality of a world at war with itself for a second time in a generation, even if for a fleeting moment.

Enjoy, i look forward to hearing about why you have a favorite christmas song, and hearing it!

And why? Well my parents were the war generation, so we grew up with these Hollywood movies.

It simply is not Christmas without Glenn Miller. I love Glenn Miller and all of his performances:

It's really hard to pick a favorite as our members above have posted some great songs. It's hard to go wrong with big band favorites Glenn Miller or music performed by an orchestra or choir. One of my favorites has always been " the Christmas song " performed by the incomparable Nat king Cole. His silky smooth baritone voice has always ushered in the season for me and I'm sure, many others.

There is also Adeste Fideles ... O Holy Night - Andrea Bocelli and David Foster on Piano. Andrea Bocelli is excellent in everything he does with singing and his arrangements.

Another is We wish you a merry Christmas on pipe organ.

Oh Holy Night is another but there are so many excellent songs.
