While looking nice and classically Jeepy

, I would prefer the mother of all Geländewagen any time: the famous Unimog. It has something that most of its rivals not have: potence where most other such cars already had to give up.

I had the questionable pleasure to ride Unimogs in the past. Not really a pleasure. But boy, these things eat difficult terrain like me eats chocolate pudding. Very impressive. And sometimes scaring (while the driver is wide-grinning).

I'm liking both of these... 2 questions come to mind...

1: Do they come with a manual transmission? With a REAL clutch linkage (no cable/hydraulic clutches). EDIT: The Wrangler does... But they need to upgrade the axles to the Dana 60, at least...

2: Are they made of real METAL, not plastic or vinyl? Rocks and trees like to make a mess of body work. At least metal you can keep it on the truck, plastic and vinyl just get ripped off completely.

And just had a though about the time I was going to click "submit reply"....

The Wagoneer would look really good with an exo-cage, snorkel and a couple of spot-lights...
