Hard to tell what breed that one is but it looks like a polar sleigh dog of some kind. Malamute or husky, prehaps? Anyway, been around Greenland dogs pretty much my entire life and I can tell you, nothing brightens up the mood of a dog like that like snow does. I bet it made a difference alright

and it does ticks me off "noone" knows who Togo was but "everyone" have heard of Balto. We have had a guy or two from here who have competed in the Iditarod race and my parents spent much time among the mad lot that are into mushing here, neither them nor their dogs would mind a blizzard but give them a baking sun and they would all moan dreaming of ice and snow
