Cool story. Good luck with her.
Our newest dog, (we got last year) we rescued from a kill shelter. We think she's around 9 years old. Sweetest dog I've ever had.

Sweet Wendy, lucky dog!
Awesome for taking care of the old gal.

We recently took in a dog too, not a senior (he's just 11 months now) but the previous owner couldn't hold the dog who has really grown big in his small house with no garden as this Huskey / shepherd breed needs room to move in and well we wheren't planning on getting a another dog as we recently had lost our German Shepherd due old age but then we saw his photo and...dang it...couldn't say no.

So now he's part of our household, claiming the couch whenever he sees the chance to do so:

Beautiful dog. Too bad he takes up a good portion of the couch.

Sorry for the loss of your German shepard but at 11 months, you will have this one a good long time.
