It looks like perhaps $10 or so here in the USA and 6 pounds or so in the UK which is up from 3.50 a pound what it was in the UK four years ago by the way.

We've always called it 'The Chippy' but it's odd, now I think about it, that there's no slang expression for the fish & chips meal itself.
You can buy other things there to have with your chips, such as fish cakes... minced up fish and mashed potato formed into patties with a bit of seasoning and covered in breadcrumb. You can also always get sausages if you prefer, and we call these "lips and arse".
