It also takes 2 litres of water to make one litre bottle of bottled water
THAT'S waste. Making something that' not much different or worse than tap water just becasue the companies tell you it's cooler that way.
Mineral water excluded, that thing is beneficial for your health.

Now a full english, you need to water the crop and water the animals and a lot of it falls from the sky, especially the water the plants kind.
I'd bet the same water to food ratio is for muesli, fruit salad, sandwich...

Then again, that ratio might be higher for a fruit salad, you have to water the tree for 5 years before it's first crop

Not directly directed at Betonov but what I never understood about the water issue is that the water isn't lost. It's not like it's used up and gone. Used water will be cleaned and released back into the water circle, water used on plants will sooner or later be released again when the plant is consumed or just by releasing humidity over the leafs etc.

So used water isn't lost water so what's the problem with water usage???

Overwhelmed capacities and (in the Alps at least), the water springs can't really be expanded to meet the increased population and/or industry and/or agriculture. And the decreasing amount of snowfall every year means that the natural reservoirs are not filled to their needed capacity in the spring.

And in the water bottle case, some water (I don't know how much really) is used as a component in plastic production and it's not really returned to nature

Unless you buy the Swedish Ramlösa. That stuff has so much chloride in it they don't recommend it to children, not to mention it smells public swimming hall.
