Default HMS Illustrious Put Up For Sale

HMS Illustrious is set to be sold off for 'recycling' after the government's attempt to keep her for the nation failed.

I think the going rate is $0.01 according to the sale of USS Ranger. That's $0.01 that you have to pay, not that you collect.

Got this way-out idea of what I would have done if I had bought this old carrier.

Not going to write a whole novel

Below flight deck I would rebuild it so it contain apartment in different sizes and luxury and with balcony. I would also build stores restaurant a.s.o below flight deck so people can go at shop things or food or go to a restaurant

Above on the flight deck I would rebuild it so it have tennis court, badminton, mini golf and other thing people who live on my carrier can do.

And lot more

As I wrote above, a way-out idea

Toxic waste dump on a keel$

Alas Illustrious alone adrift. Better to sink her as a target so she can at least salvage some pride, yet, being recycled is a new version of noble perhaps. I think I'll have some cake on it.

What an ignoble end for a loyal servant to her country who was called on to do her duty in its hour of need during the South Atlantic troubles

Back to my idea

There will in no way be grass on the flight deck. There will be some kind of asphalt and other hard and soft material.

Probably because they are equally as gullible as UK and some other countries politicians.
