I have run into this issue before where the patch doesn't work when it should. Here is what worked for me. I cannot guarantee that it will work, but it is something to try.

First, uninstall DW or SC completely. This includes all configuration files.

Second, reinstall either DW or SC.

Third, try to run it without the DLL patch. It will crash, but what we want is for the game to create all of the INI files.

Finally, add the patch DLL.

It should work after this. I tried it on Windows 10 with the direct download install from Amazon, so there were no DRM issues to complicate things. Again, it worked for me and it may work for you. For some reason DW and Windows 10 are really funky, patch or no patch.

Thanks a virtual million, mate! Truly amazing work. I'm still not able to change certain options such as screen resolution but otherwise...truly amazing. Now, if I could figure out how to get Sub Command to work on Win10 I would be nearly ecstatic.

I have tried three different apps to open the rar file, all say it could not be unpacked, may be corrupt.

I put the patch on my 64-bit W10 box and it launches now, but the mouse cursor is stuck in the middle - I can click things but the cursor is invisible

Edit: I set .SoftwareCursor Yes in the INI and that helped, the cursor sometimes leaves trails, but it's usable.

Hi All, I have not acquired DW yet. I am pursuing info, though.

1. What is the "Wrapper", and if need, where do I get it?

2. What is the ".dll" file that is mentioned above? Do I need it, Where do I go to get it?

3. I hear mention of one "primary" mod file; where is it, what is it and will there be instructions as to what to do with it when I get there?

4. Steam; do I have to buy DW there or is Amazon fine? (Big price difference)

5. Someone mentioned a .RAR file below. What is it?

Has anybody figured out the blank Statcard and FFG TMA graphics glitches Anko asked about? I have another post about it, but no joy there. Thought I might ask here, as I am at my wits end.

My friend have the same problem with Data Display. Only "big" 3D window (CTRL+M) shows informations on Data Display (top-left corner).

He uses TMA autocrew, but i will ask him soon about that.

If I make a partition on my HD and install winxp on it and then boot to it, would it be easier to run DW or SC that way on a Win10 platform?

If you haven't tried the Windows 10 fix file, I would try that, as it's much simpler than setting up another partition. Another partition would definitely solve the problem, though, or you could use a virtual machine (like Oracle VM VirtualBox) so you wouldn't have to reboot all the time.

I just realized that you have to run the program as administrator for your dangerouswaters.ini changes to take effect. Otherwise it seems to get ignored. In Windows 10, at least.
