Hi, Im playing SH3 GWX 3.0 and would like to know how I can edit or delete the left side pop up menu commands, forcing me to "Interact" with the submarine more, anyone know which file, or download? and also, how can I get rid of that annoying lower left side Engine report pop up, and right side Compass pop up? I hate those things, thanks so much Subsimmers for replying...

G'day Caronport
I've modded my GWX 3 not long ago. I've changed my pop out compass to another set mainly because I really disliked the GWX compass look. So I know what files you're after. Go to the drive where your game is installed on. Programs files or whatever then Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/Menu/GUI/Layout And these are the files you'll want to delete (or edit if you wanted to). But you're better off cutting and pasting these somewhere else in case things go wrong with the game. Or overall, just back up your data file. This is a must if you plan on mucking about with mods or editing files. Pop out Engine report Dials1b.tga Indicators.tga This will remove the entire engine report but Indicators.tga will also remove the indicators from the games stock depth, compass and knotmeter dials. Pop out Compass Lage.tga Richtung.tga ZeigerKompass.tga Glas1.tga This will remove the entire pop out compass Pop out Command Menu Shortcuts.tga Missed a few other .tga files to completely remove this menu. Keep in mind these only delete the graphical pop outs but they won't stop you from activating an 'invisible pop out' and accidentally making a new bearing or clicking on an invisible shortcut. It'll probably involve going through the menu_1024_768 file or some cfg file to disable these commands. This will be probably be a better solution but I haven't done much in the way of editing these type of files but since I've listed the file names, it should make it easy for someone to find the related coding. So if anyone know I've missed anything, please do kindly shout out. Happy Hunting Caron, I hope this will be of some use. Last edited by Delanski; 04-12-16 at 11:32 PM. |
