Welcome aboard Alfapiomega.

As for you question on Learning Curve, I'd say run a few the single missions with the different U-boats offered. It's on good way to get the feel of how the subs handle out on the high seas and with the enemy ships you will possibly encounter. It'll give you a good feel on firing torpedoes in combat and under pressure...... more so IMHO than the Naval Academy does. That goes for both manual and the "automatic" firing of torpedoes. They'll also help you in getting away from the Escorts that will hunt you down.

Good luck and sink em all!

Thank you, Gary.

OK, that sounds reasonable. I didn't have much time to play yesterday but I got through the flak cannon training video/description/exercise So I am basically one step away from trying the game itself

OK, I have several more questions if I may. I would be very grateful if you guys helped me with these as well!

I have read a lot in the past 20 hours and decided that the best mod for me would probably be LSH2015. So I decided I will delete and reinstall the game with the new mod. This however brings me to following question:

a) Patches
- In the thread about LSH2015 I found a few patches. Is the version available from their page (lsh3.com) fully patched? I think it is so but I'd rather ask

b) Additional mods
The LSH2015 seems to have it's own version of SC3. Is that the mod everyone mentions here or do I have to install another one?

c) There is about million micro mods mentioned everywhere. Can anyone who plays LSH2015 tell me if I should look into any of those? I can't for the love of god figure out what is compatible with what... ><

Sorry for all the questions but I am just trying to figure this out before I dive deep into the game. I'd hate to play the game and figure out halfway through that there was some super thing I was missing this entire time...

Thank you in advance!

Hi Alfa

LSH3-2015 I can highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys SH3.

You do not need to do anything.
Just follow the download and installation notes.

Yes it does and gives you so many options.
It also comes with hsie already set up for LSH3 and you can make additional changes to suit your game play.

There are 2 very useful manuals: LSH3-Commander Edition 2015 and Patch HSIE-v1681 for LSH3 Edition 2015.
Unfortunately there is not a manual for the LSH3-2015 version but there is a comprehensive mini-manual for the 2010 version where there are some similarities to the 2015 version.

The mods are already installed disabled in JSGME.
The hsie can only be changed with the application disabled.
I have done 25 patrols with no problems at all.
My current list of mods.

My HSIE patch settings.

My crew for patrol 12

In SH3 Commander you also have the option to set the career and crew management.
This should only be done once at the start of each new patrol/mission and then unticked.

Thank you very much for the answer with the screens, this helps a lot!

The only question I would have for you now is (but I think you already answered it by showing your active mods) - are there any mods or lists of extra mods compatible with LSH?

Also I finally understand the HSIE mod - realism which is great. Looking forward to doing it!

A request: Please do not quote entire sets of pictures, especially when yours is the very next post. If you need to comment on a single picture, by all means quote it. Otherwise it just takes up space.

Thanks.
