Bear in mind that the first radar sets covered an arc of 10%-20% in front of your boat, so sometimes doing a full circle @ ahead slow with your u-boat is required. Very handy in deep fog.
The radar should pick a target at about 10 - 15 kms, depending on your sonarman's skills. If you make only a single sweep, you must be very lucky to catch something. |
