Hi.
Yeah, so...I have the Steam version of Sh3: Does the "Supermod" not like/not compute with that version? I'm following step by step and getting no where tried renaming the folder its installed in. Do I guess I may need an actual physical/dvd copy of the game? That would suck buying the same game twice ![]() Any help or assistance anyone can provide would be fantastic Edit: I'm going to try to 'migrate' the SH3 folder from my 'steamapps' into just C:SilentHunterIII (folder I created) Probably wont work but near as I can tell maybe thats the issue. not very hope ful though 2nd Edit! SUCCESS!! (I think!) 3rd Edit: Erm....is the *supposed* to take a long time for the "FULLVERSION" mod to activate it JSGME? 'cos mine just seems to freeze? editedit: Again answered my own question, yes it takes time but so far so good! Last edited by CaptainJon; 12-21-15 at 01:43 AM. |

Jon, for some games the only way you can play them is thru Steam. I'm not crazy about Steam as with some of them you are limited on being able to use mods. Even tho there is a way around to get mods working with SH3 on Steam, I would get SH3 thru Amazon.com. But that's up to you. Same with SH4. Both are on Amazon.
Steam keeps track of what you do and how much you play. That's my main gripe along with the limitations. Example. I play X3 Terran Conflict. There were some great mods called Cheats, from the EgoSoft forum, for it when played as a stand-alone game. With Steam there aren't any except for Albion Prelude and Bonus packages that aren't all that great.

Ya, I found a "workaround" I just had to transfer the contents of the SH3 folder from the clutches of steam into a Folder in the C: Drive. Success!

Great game!
![]() A few years ago, during a promotional sale, I bought on Steam the whole X series from X-Beyond the Frontier to X3: Albion Prelude. So far I have only played up to X3: Reunion, but never had probem using unsigned scripts and mods. ![]() |
