Ah ? I believed that decoys were acoustic devices which were deluding the enemy hydrophones. But here, I'm reading that they were emitted hydrogen bubbles in order to delude the enemy sonars. Really ? And in SH3, the enemy SONARS are being deluded ??

I think the last device specifically cite 'listening gear' ie 'passive sonar' or headphones; the BOLD and motorized Sieglinde however deflects the sonar transmission; I don't play SH III; but based on its dual ship and air Metox capability when the real WWII metox's only detected aerial radar, I wonder about the game's AI veracity/authenticity. NOTE: I found and added more info to the above post...amazing stuff!

Decoys in SH3 seem to be there to delude you into a false sense of security.

I've never seen them work myself.

That's true if the destroyer's crew is elite (and maybe veteran) level.
