I don't know if this is exactly the same as what you mean, but I've noticed when leaving Manila, I will sail near Cavite, and it will only appear when fairly close (I don't recall the exact range). It is kind of like a mirage. I figured it was just a graphic rendering limitation, and everyone had it. |
