Reminds me of an old Beverly Hillbillies episode. Banker Drysdale has a nasty cold, and the doctors all tell him the same thing: Lots of rest, lots of liquids and in three or four days his cold would be gone. Jed keeps telling him to try Granny's sure-fire cure. "It never fails!"
Finally Drysdale agrees to try the stuff. It smells and tastes so nasty he nearly chokes. Then he asks if it really works. Granny replies "Every time. All you need to do now is get plenty of rest, drink lots of water and in three or four days your cold will be gone - guaranteed!" Hope your feeling better. ![]()

Beautiful! And indeed a sure cure against almost anything bad i'm sure
![]() Furling tech is nice, as long as it does not get stuck in a strong wind, or before an upcoming storm. Better two guys/girls more to stow it all away in time .. but sure nice to have ![]()

We had a 44 Peterson which just sold, not as much teak as that Cheoy Lee but they do look somewhat similar. Think it's the age of the boats, anyway furling systems are the best, we had the old Hood Mark I jib furler. Called the manufacturer looking for new bearings one day. Tech support had to find an old timer who knew what a Mark I was. Really liked the day too when we finally broke down and rigged a lazy jack for the main.
Kinda miss that life when your days routine revolved around the time of tides, sunrise, and weather. Now its back to calendars and clocks. Never had a cold the entire 8 years living aboard her either. ![]() |

2 spoonfulls of honey, a couple of spoons of lemon juice, 6-8 cloves, boiling water and a shot of Irish Whiskey (optional). Tastes ok too.
It works. It's a real energy/vitamin bomb and 10 times better than all those chemicals there are in all those over the counter remedies. You could of course try it without the honey, lemon juice, cloves and boiling water...... Get well soon |
