I've made the copy of the stock game with Silent Front End (S3F), and it has created a file in My Documents called GWM. For my stock game, the file is SH3 in My Documents.

By re-installing GWX, I think i'm going to loose the link between GWX and the folder GWM in My Documents.

All the problem is that question : how to link one installation with one folder in My Documents in order to save careers and single missions ?

@ Blitzkrieg :

Sorry, but I'm just trying to understand how this is working. I don't pretend to be an expert, otherwise I would not ask questions. I'm not blaming your work, I'm not saying that you have mad a bad tool. I simply like to know how something is working before using it. I hate to follow instructions and not understanding what is happening. That's my right.

Maybe your explanations are not precise or clear enough. So let some other people explaining me what's wrong.

So, there is a folder in My Documents called GWM, I didn't create it. And when copying the stock game with S3F, it has asked me a name for a new folder, and I called it GWM.

So maybe it is SH3.exe which has created it. But I couldn't know this !

Or maybe didn't I read enough again ??!! (!) ((?))

And remember : english is NOT my first language.

9. S3M - Silent Hunter III MultiSH3Copy - new: in "Settings"
Select the installation that you want to run this routine with and then you can make a copy of that very installation and have it installed so that the "MultiSH3"-functions are applied, i.e. that your "My Documents\SH3"-path is changed from SH3 to whatever you like - it only has to be a THREE-DIGIT-long combination of chars/numbers, i.e. GWX, NYG, LSH, 123, 999, ...

So, why are you saying that S3F doesn't do that ?? the Multi-Copy function is a part of S3F, isn't it ?

Moreover, the SH3 folder has not been changed into GWM, but a new folder GWM has been created next to the SH3 folder.

You said me to read before asking. I'll say you to think before writing. And make a synthesis, instead of multiplying the links in all directions.

All the best,

F.

1. So, I have re-installed GWX. Now, I still have the 11 windows with the error message, but the game is not crashing anymore. Does anyone have an idea on where this problem comes from ?

2. And, as I was thinking, I've lost the link with the GWM folder situated in My Documents. So, I'm asking : what is the file which allows to do the link with GWM in My Documents ?
