Call it Bob, then we could take turns bobbing about on the ocean.

I'll get my coat

Cheers

Default SUBSIM SABALO

Well the only two, out of 61 total, type 209 subs owned (per the OP) by the Venezuelan Navy were the 'Sabalo' Class variants of the type 209. One is the S31 Sabalo and the other the S-32 Caribe. The USS Baleo Class Sabalo, named for a silvery game fish of the herring group, was sunk as a target ship in 1973. Since we are all 'gaming Herrs' in our own right and the name is good in even the US Navy...simply SUBSIM SABALO

I'm beginning to think we should call resurrected threads, "Hunleys". They get dredged up from the bottom mud after a long interval of time. The mortal remains of long departed forum members inside are briefly seen again. Then we put the thread back on display before something else attracts our attention and it sinks into obscurity once more.

Works for me

I always enjoyed zombie threads, myself. Kinda nostalgic.

Name it R-U-Serious
Cause when you tell people you own a sub that's what they're gonna say.
Then you can say Yes! that's it's name! How'd you know?

The Collins Class have historically faced problems in maintaining sufficient operational crew levels to have anyone choose a name

How about Egbert? I had a friend called Egbert: his sister couldn't keep her hands off me (we called her "Egbert's sister" because no-one knew her name). think I told you all this before didn't I?
